Yes! South Florida's warm, humid, and frost-free climate is ideal for the peppercorn vine, allowing it to thrive outdoors year-round. In other parts of Florida where frost or cooler temperatures occur, it is best grown in containers so it can be protected during cold snaps.

What are the "black spots" on the leaves?

Do not worry! Those small, semi-translucent or dark crystalline balls on the underside of the leaves are called "growth sugars" or exudates. They are a perfectly normal part of the plant’s physiology, indicating that it is healthy and thriving. Do not attempt to wipe them off, as this can damage the leaves.

How do I harvest different colors of pepper?

It is all about timing! Green peppercorns are harvested while the berries are still immature. Black peppercorns are made by harvesting green berries and drying them. Red peppercorns are harvested when fully ripe, and white pepper is produced by removing the outer skin from fully ripe berries.

How long until it produces fruit?
