Morning Glories

Untreated • Unprocessed • Organic • Non‑GMO

Morning Glories (Ipomoea) are the quintessential fast-growing vines, celebrated for their heart-shaped foliage and stunning, trumpet-shaped blooms that greet the rising sun. A staple of vertical gardening, these energetic climbers can rapidly transform fences, trellises, arbors, or balcony railings into a living curtain of color. With an incredible range of hues—from deep, velvety blues and rich purples to bright pinks and dramatic bicolors—they bring a sense of magic and anticipation to the garden each morning.

Incredibly vigorous, Morning Glories prefer full sun and warm weather to truly shine. They are essentially the “pioneers” of the vine world, climbing with effortless grace toward the light. By choosing our heirloom strains, you are selecting seeds that retain the untamed vigor, reliable germination, and classic, nostalgic aesthetic that have made these vining beauties a beloved feature of garden landscapes for centuries.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why don't my seeds germinate?
Morning Glory seeds have a very hard outer coat. To dramatically improve germination rates, we recommend "nicking" the seed coat with a file or soaking them in room-temperature water for 12–24 hours before planting.
What kind of support do they need?
Because they are vigorous twiners, they need a sturdy structure to climb. Trellises, wire fencing, strings, or even a sturdy, dead tree branch can provide the necessary grip for them to reach their full potential.
Are they invasive?
While they are enthusiastic growers and prolific self-seeders, they are generally not considered invasive in most home garden settings. Simply deadhead the blooms before they turn into seed pods if you wish to limit their spread.
When do the blooms open?
As their name suggests, they typically open in the early morning hours when the air is cool. Depending on the intensity of the sun and the specific variety, they often begin to close as the afternoon heat sets in.
